About This Quiz

"Live Laugh Love" is a song by Clay Walker, but he didn't originate the phrase; it's become a pretty popular credo and meme out in the world at large. Just three simple words express positivity and hope, and they can be found on T-shirts, mugs, keychains and probably a million and one other things, many of which you can buy on Etsy. The phrase itself can trace its origins to a 1904 poem called "Success" by Bessie Anderson Stanley. She wrote the line, "he achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much." It goes on, but that sentiment was condensed and gave us that little phrase we're all so used to today. And why not? Three positive words reflect what nearly everyone wants to experience in life — or nearly everyone.

Sometimes living, laughing and loving just isn't in the cards. You're just not feeling so cheery, and for you, a much more relatable credo is "die cry hate." It's not that you're completely depressed and in need of an intervention. Really, it just means you're maybe a little sick of all this sunshine and rainbow stuff that other people are into. Real life is rough sometimes. It can be hard. It's OK to hate bad music and weird food. So let's find out which direction you lean. Take the quiz and see!
